Q:1 What is the difference between an Automatic payment and a Direct Debt payment?
A Direct Debit is the process where you give the bank authority for Peak Fitness to deduct an agreed amount from your account. When you join Peak Fitness you will be required to complete a direct debit authority form. This form does not specify a date, amount or frequency; it just tells the bank that you agree that Peak Fitness can take an agreed amount from your account. When you complete your membership agreement your bank account details, amount, date and frequency of your membership fees are recorded into our billing database. These are all specified by you and are stated on your membership agreement. This option allows you a lot more flexibility in changing amounts, frequencies or bank account numbers.
Q:2 How is this different to an automatic payment?
An automatic payment is different to a direct debit as it is initiated by you rather than by Peak Fitness. You are required to set up the date, amount and frequency of the payments if any changes are required you will need to go to your bank to make any adjustments which means you attract more fees. We do not accept auto-matic payments as a method of paying your membership fees.
Q:3 Does this mean you have free access to my account?
No. For Peak Fitness to be able to direct debit your account we have signed a contract (The “Initiators” contract) with our chosen bank which states clearly that we will only direct debit the agreed amount from your account.
Q:4 Why might I see an increase in my normal direct debts?
Peak Fitness makes every effort to collect all weekly and fortnightly fees every Thursday and the monthly fees on the 1st and 20th of the month. Occasionally your bank may deny the payment to Peak Fitness for a variety reasons, for example insufficient funds in the account, payment stopped, account closed or credit card has expired. If this occurs we will endeavor to contact you and look to collect the fees in our next weekly billing run. As long as the bank does not deny your membership fees to Peak Fitness you will not see any change in membership fees.
Q:5 What if I am going away or am injured and can not come to the gym?
You can put your membership on hold for up to 3 months every year.
Services
Q:1 Do you have child minding facilities?
Yes we offer a free service 9.15am to 10.15pm Monday to Friday in the Group Fitness Room.
Q:2 What is a fitness assessment?
This is time with a gym instructor who will sit down and look at previous exercise history, your goals and different tests which provide a baseline from which they will develop a programme. The gym instructor will then book you in again to have someone take you through your programme.
Q:3 What if I do not understand an exercise even though I have been shown?
Please feel free to approach a staff member to show you again. There is often a lot to take in when you are first learning a programme – our staff will happily guide you during your workout.
