You Are Not Alone!

Mums in Motion is an eight week course meeting once a week. All sessions are on the swiss ball and the intensity of the workouts are increased each week. Each Mum receives her own fitness workbook with readings and homework exercises. Babies are included in the workouts so there’s no need to worry about childcare.

 

From the Mothers Mouth:

After a difficult pregnancy with pelvic and back complications, I vowed I would never be physically limited again and dreamed of shedding the weight I’d gained over my pregnancies. I had no idea where to start until I came across a flyer for the Active Mums: Mums In Motion course run at Peak Fitness.  This class, I now know, was just the beginning!
Charissa and Julie led our group through baby inclusive exercises that gradually increased in intensity. It was fantastic being able to start moving towards my goals in a supportive small group situation, essentially personal training sessions, where my baby and toddler were happily included. The workbook was very informative and a great tool to support the weekly instruction. I still use it as an inspirational reference when my motivation wanes; it is remarkable what you can do with a Swiss Ball! I really enjoyed the social aspect of the Active Mums courses – it’s like an antenatal or coffee group where you’re toning and taking weight off instead of eating cake! The weekly variation was awesome with specific exercises, sessions outdoors and some insight to what gym classes are all about, the boxing class was a real hit!
Following the Active Mums classes, I wasn’t quite ready to take the plunge and commit to a gym membership so the 8 week discount membership offered to Active Mums participants was my next baby step. This is what cemented my resolve to make this exercise thing a permanent lifestyle change. I found the staff at Peak Fitness to be knowledgeable, supportive and encouraging towards my goals but most of all cheery and friendly and the crèche service is invaluable – Janet is wonderful with the kids. I now go to the gym 4 to 6 mornings a week and am amazed at how much energy this actually gives me for the rest of the day, running after my four children. Even when I really don’t want to exercise, I make myself go but let myself have an easy session. A little bit most days, has given good results. Clothes that had been hiding in the back of my wardrobe for years are coming out and about again!
